Printing
Can be undertaken through sub-contractors using direct digital print or Tampo printing as appropriate. Alternatively we can ship mouldings direct to the clients preferred printer.
The most common type of printing on plastic is pad or “Tampo” printing. The process uses a silicone pad to pick up an image and transfer it to the moulded part. Handling up to four different colours and capable of printing onto non flat surfaces, the process can offer quick and repeatable branding/instructions/symbols etc to a surface.
Digital printing does away with the need for a plate and silicone pad and also removes any constraint as to the number of colours, by applying the digitalimage directly to the part. There are however some limitations, the most significant being the proximity of the print head to the printed article. Depending on the set up this usually has to be constrained within 5mm, limiting the geometries that can be printed.
