We had a great time at TCT!
We’d exhibited for the first time at PDM Event in the summer and now here we were at the NEC ready to set up, fluorescent jackets at the ready, thankful at least that we weren’t required to wear hard hats and safety boots!
After a couple of initial hiccups – Tim losing his mobile phone within the first 10 minutes, followed by the coffee machine nearly causing our stand to be condemned as it didn’t comply to the strict electrical specifications, and we were finally ready…
The setting up of the stands was an education in itself – seeing stands being built completely from scratch by teams of proficient looking carpenters and painters, was pretty amazing to watch. The HP stand would have taken 2 or 3 houses! We may have been small by comparison, but we thought our stand looked pretty impressive, even if we do say so ourselves!
The expectation of things to come over the coming days was evident from the size of the hall to the number of exhibitors to the professionalism of the event staff. This was exciting!

For us, it was interesting to see the diversity of exhibitors this year at the Show, and to see the number of 3D printing machines being displayed by companies from eastern Europe. It proved just how much the 3D printing market really is exploding globally. In fact, several visitors wandered in from PPMA and were totally bemused by what they saw!
Highlights? It was great to see some movement to meet the need for ceramics. Fabulous to see progress in this. As always, we will keep you informed…
Otherwise, new machines, new materials and all the normal hype! A great show.
To catch up with old friends too was a real pleasure and the icing on the cake. It was a superb couple of days. And so, now time to plan next year’s itinerary. We hear next years event will be run over 3 days and will be bigger and better – I feel a bigger stand coming on…!
