SolidWorks, 3D CAD software, launches it's latest and best.

The launch of SOLIDWORKS 2016 coincided with the Rugby World Cup and to celebrate, one of Britain's greatest rugby achievements, Sir Clive Woodward was the highly motivational guest speaker at the main event, the IXL Centre in Warwickshire.

Solidworks 2016 launch eventIt was a full day of seminars and workshops but still with time to meet and catch up with acquaintances new and old and share ideas.

At Plunkett Associates we run Solidworks as our primary 3D modelling package and then augment this with specialist software as required. We currently have two seats including Solidworks Premium, Solidworks Simulation Professional and use Moldflow for injection moulding analysis.

This allows us to work with 3D models to analyse their strength, not just at the component level but also at the assembly level, and look at thermal analysis to predict component temperatures in a variety of different environmental conditions.

Moldflow is used on projects that will be injection moulded, be they our designs or the clients.  With it we can simulate the way in which an injection mould will fill, how long that will take and the temperatures involved. We can predict potential issues such as the location of weld lines, and move the gates around in software rather than steel, so saving time and money.

If you need support with your design analysis, give us a call, we will be happy to help.
