The World's first 3D printed bridge is happening!
Back in June, we reported on the ambitious project that Dutch company, MX3D, were proposing - to build the world’s first 3D printed bridge. We have great pleasure in announcing that construction has finally begun...
www.3ders.org tells us:
"the bridge will eventually be placed over the Oudezijds Achterburgwal canal in the Red Light District, due to the immense amount of pedestrian and tourist traffic, on-site construction was out of the question.
Instead, they are using a construction site at the old NDSM shipping dock in the north of the city, where visitor’s can stop by once a week to check on the progress. Construction is expected to last from three to four months, after which it will be moved to the more tourist-friendly spot."
