3D Printed art replaces the Christmas tree at the Aqua Shard in London - and it looks amazing!
Making a statement or going with the times? Whatever the reason, 3D printing has certainly created the wow factor for Christmas diners this year at the Shard.
3,000 leaf skeletons from five species of British trees cascade from the 31st floor of the Shard building in a 9 meter display entitled “Human Nature”.
Sir David Attenborough has been involved in the project from the beginning and eventually the leaves will be sold to raise money for charity.
Each leaf was 3D printed by ObjectForm using recycled plastic materials with the aim to help raise awareness of environmental issues, particularly at this time of year when we could be accused of being less careful.
Thank you to TCT magazine for reporting on this. We think it’s just beautiful – and perfect for getting us into the holiday spirit….
